It features a variable speed control that allows you to adjust the speed from zero to 3,000 strokes per minute based on your project requirements. The jigsaw is also easy to handle, with a rubberized grip that helps absorb vibration and reduce fatigue. What makes it stand out among other products is its heavy-duty construction and durability. The jigsaw is built with a solid magnesium shoe and base plate, which allows you to make straight cuts like an electric circular saw. The best part? This jigsaw is extremely affordable, which makes it a great choice for DIYers and professionals alike!

    Buying Guide: Jigsaws

A jigsaw can be an invaluable tool for woodworkers — but not all of them are created equal. Some of them come with a dull blade, while others have a poorly-designed cutting guide that makes it impossible for you to make precise cuts. To help you out, we’ve put together this handy guide discussing all the important things to look for in a jigsaw. Read on to learn more!

    Blade Quality

The quality of the blades used in your jigsaw makes a big difference in terms of performance. When choosing your jigsaw, look for blades that are made from high-quality materials such as hardened steel or carbide for maximum sharpness and durability. Quality blades will provide smoother cuts with less resistance and will not rust or corrode with constant usage. If you plan on doing more frequent or detailed work with your jigsaw, then it is worth investing in better blades.

    Variable Speed Setting

Jigsaws often allow you to adjust the speed either manually or via a trigger control to give you greater accuracy for different materials or intricate cuts that require precision.  A higher speed setting is better for hard materials like metal, while lower speeds are best used with softwood or plastic materials. It’s also important to note that higher speeds may create more heat buildup within the tool, eventually leading to burning material or shortening the motor’s life. If you plan on working with a wide variety of materials, it’s best to choose a jigsaw with variable speed settings, so you can adjust it according to your needs!

    Ergonomics

The ergonomics of a jigsaw are important to take into consideration when purchasing. Look for a jigsaw that is easy to grip, with comfortable rubber handgrips and non-slip handles. Additionally, consider buying one with a trigger switch lock mechanism, so you don’t have to keep squeezing the trigger during extended periods of use.  While working on different projects, you’ll be maneuvering your jigsaw around tight corners or at awkward angles — so look out for lightweight models that offer plenty of mobility while still providing ample power output needed for cutting through different materials effectively and efficiently.

    Orbital Action

Orbital action is the amount of circular motion the blade produces when making a cut. This feature is most important when cutting thicker materials, where orbital action can help cut efficiently and quickly. Most jigsaws have three to five orbital settings, but it’s important to note that some may only have one or two. If you plan on doing a lot of precision cuts, it’s important to ensure your model has at least three orbital settings for maximum versatility!

    Bevel Action

Bevel action allows you to tilt the blade up to 45 degrees to make angled cuts. Generally, this feature is helpful if you’re doing crown molding or cutting patterns into wood or metal sheets. Some jigsaws offer up to four bevel settings, but these models tend to be more expensive than those with fewer settings. A good rule of thumb is to decide what type of projects you plan on tackling and then choose a model with enough bevel settings for your needs.

    Blade Change System

A jigsaw’s blade change system is a key factor to consider when buying one. A good blade change system will allow you to quickly and easily switch out blades for different materials or for different types of cuts. Most jigsaws come with either keyless or keyhole blade-change systems.  Keyless systems are usually found on cordless jigsaws and allow you to swap out the blades without any tools. Keyhole systems require an Allen wrench to loosen and tighten the blade clamp, which holds the blade in place. Both systems work just fine, but if you don’t want to fumble around with different tools, then opt for a keyless blade change system!

    Dust Blower Feature

Dust extraction capabilities are another key factor to consider when choosing which jigsaw model to buy. Look for models that feature dust bags or external vacuum hose connections so you can keep your workspace area clean while also protecting your lungs from harmful particles released during sawing operations.
