A trim router is a great tool to have in the shop. Its small size allows you to use it with one hand and to get into tight spaces. But there are times when the small base of a trim router doesn’t offer quite enough support. To make my trim router more stable, I added a larger auxiliary base.
The size of the base is up to you. It’s cut from a 1⁄4"-thick piece of acrylic and attached using the original screw locations. To make the router easier to control, I added a pair of dowels as handles.
