Here are the steps required to install the lid stay in the Vintage Toolbox (Woodsmith 268)

lid-stay-preview The lid stays that are installed in the vintage toolbox (Woodsmith 268) are concealed in the edges of the case and lid. The drawing below shows the location and dimensions for the lid stay that we used (Brusso JB-250). lid-stay-01 Case work. After laying out the stay location, drill overlaping holes with a Forstner bit. The drawing below shows this step. lid-stay-02 Lid Details. The same Forstner bit is used to drill the holes in the lid for the hanger. lid-stay-03 Install the stay. The hanger is glued in its hole. The body of the stay is screwed into the case sides.
