Adjustable Wall-Mounted Rack for Workshop Cords & Hoses
Extension cords, dust collection hoses, and other workshop accessories can quickly turn into a tangled mess if they don't have a dedicated storage spot.
Rather than buying a collection of hooks and hangers, I built this adjustable wall-mounted rack from plywood and a handful of hardware.
The best feature is that the hooks can be repositioned to accommodate different sizes of cords, hoses, and other items.
Simple Plywood Construction
The rack is made from plywood and mounts directly to the workshop wall with screws driven into the wall studs.
Long hex bolts serve as the hanging hooks. Unlike permanently mounted hooks, these bolts can be positioned at different locations along the rack.
That makes it easy to adjust the spacing whenever your storage needs change.
Customize the Rack to Fit Your Shop
Position the bolts farther apart for bulky dust collection hoses or closer together for smaller extension cords and accessories.
Because the rack mounts to the wall, it keeps frequently used items accessible without taking up valuable bench or floor space.
It's a simple, inexpensive storage upgrade that makes good use of a little plywood and hardware — and it's easy to rearrange as your workshop changes.
