This chop saw is made from top-quality materials by the renowned Milwaukee brand, making it a safe and durable choice. With its customizable features, powerful motor and lightweight design, this chop saw is great for both professional and home users alike. It allows for precise and effortless results no matter the task.

    From the Manufacturer

The powerful 15 amp, 4.0 maximum horsepower motor delivers maximum cutting performance in various materials. This saw has a large cutting capacity that provides versatility, up to 5″ pipe and a durable, lightweight design at just 40lbs. The saw also offers a 45-degree miter capacity with an adjustable fence for quick, accurate miter cuts without flipping heavy material. Additionally, the quick adjust vice clamp allows adjusting quickly when cutting different material sizes, significantly increasing productivity.

    Customer Review

A customer reviewed the product saying, “I finally got sick of my old Milwaukee 6176. It lasted for years, but I replaced the switch in it four times. I didn't want to spend a fortune, so I looked at every chop saw I could find under $200. When I was back in College, I remember noting that all of the angle grinders the school shop had for students to use were made by Metabo. The reason was that no amount of abuse could kill them. I bought this saw as an Amazon return (that had never even been used), and saved nearly half off over new. It works great, has a good clamp, a comfortable handle, plenty of power, good cutting capacity, and the switch isn't junk (sorry Milwaukee). German made quality. I would have no qualms about getting another.”
    Pros
    • Powerful motor that doesn’t bog down when cutting thick steel
    • Cuts relatively square, even for heavy cutting
    • Able to cut rocks with a diamond blade
    • Great price point
    • Excellent quality, just like all Milwaukee tools
    Cons
    • May become hot to the touch with prolonged use.

    Chop Saw Buying Guide

This comprehensive buyer’s guide will help you make an informed decision by looking at all the critical features you must consider when choosing the Milwaukee Chop Saw.

Top Considerations Before Buying a Chop Saw

    Blade size

The size of the blade will determine the type and quantity of material it can tackle. Generally, larger blades mean heavier, more powerful saws that can cut thicker materials. Choose a saw with a blade size that fits your project requirements.

    Motor power

Motor power is another essential feature when choosing a Milwaukee chop saw. It determines how powerful and fast it can cut through materials. A higher wattage motor means a faster cutting speed and a larger range of materials you can use it with. Choose a motor with enough power for your project needs, or opt for something higher if you want to use it for heavier-duty applications.

    Blade speed

The speed determines how quickly materials are cut, so choose one with a cutting speed that meets your project requirements. Higher speeds provide more efficient cuts, but they also require more power from the motor, so make sure you pick one with strong motor power.

    Weight

Weight is an important factor if you plan on transporting your saw around often, as lighter saws are easier to move and set up in tight spaces. However, just because it’s light doesn’t mean it isn’t powerful – some lightweight Milwaukee chop saws are surprisingly powerful and can still handle most projects.

    Dust collection system

A good dust collection system helps keep the workspace clean while reducing dust inhalation hazards from using the tool. Most Milwaukee chop saws come with dust collection bags. However, some models may require an additional vacuum or dust extractor attachment to fully utilise their dust collection capabilities.

    Quality of construction

Look for a Milwaukee chop saw that is well-made and constructed from quality materials such as stainless steel or cast iron for long-lasting performance. Check out the type of components used in its construction, such as motors, blades, housings, triggers, and switches, so you know it will be up to your intended task.

    Price

Consider your budget when making your choice, as prices can vary greatly depending on the features included in each model. If you want something more heavy-duty with additional features, such as laser guides and spark guards, expect to pay more for the additional features.

    Safety features

Safety features such as blade guards, spark guards, and laser guides guarantee maximum safety while operating the saw. These features also ensure more accurate cuts, which reduces time wasted on material corrections or rework later on down the line.

    Comfort

Make sure the saw is comfortable to use over extended periods by focusing on handle design, grip, vibration reduction technologies and balance distribution across the body while using the tool. A comfortable saw should be effortless while preventing fatigue during extended uses or large projects.

    Warranty

Choose a Milwaukee chop saw with an acceptable warranty period, so you have peace of mind if something goes wrong with your purchase. Warranties should cover any defects in workmanship or material. Check carefully before making a final decision on your purchase.
