Sawhorse Storage

By: Erich Lage
Here's a great way to keep a sawhorse close at hand but out of the way.

sh01 Recently, I built a set of the fold-flat sawhorses from WoodsmithPlans.com. They work great and are compact for easy storage. But in light of a recent resolution to clean up my shop, I decided to build storage for the sawhorses. Wall hung. The holder starts with a piece of plywood that I shaped to match the profile of the sawhorses. I attached a hanger cleat made out of three layers of plywood that supports the sawhorses. The assembly is then attached through the back onto the wall. 03 A rare-earth magnet is installed in the back. I also installed magnets on each sawhorse. The first sawhorse has one on each side, and the second sawhorse has a magnet on the inside. They add a little extra holding power to make sure the horses don’t slip off the cleat. Now, my shop is one step closer to being organized. sh05 The sawhorses can be pulled off the holder and unfolded for use around the shop. sh06 Magnets embedded in each sawhorse and the back add holding power to keep them in place.
