Double Door Box22

Here’s a new take on a small box project. Instead of a lid, two doors reveal the items inside. Arts and Crafts details make this a standout no matter where it’s placed.

Both the hinges and knobs are in the “dark antique” finish. The box was stained with Varathane’s “Gunstock.” It was then sprayed with two coats of satin lacquer.

Weather Vane28

Ready to take your woodworking in a new direction? Try out this working weather vane. Simple woodworking, some turning, and a little metal work combine into a fun project.

All the metal and hardware for the weathervane was purchased from McMaster-Carr. The arrow was painted with Benjamin Moore’s “Witching hour” and “Anchor Grey”. The Moon is “Templeton Grey” and the ball is “Million Dollar Red”.

Workbench Companion Cart38

Think of this cart as the trusty sidekick to your workbench. With a thick top, pull-out tray, and plenty of storage, you’ll find it a welcome addition to your shop.

The cart was painted with Benjamin Moore’s “Garden Cucumber” topped with a coat of satin spray lacquer. The worksurface and tray simply have two coats of wiping varnish for color and a little protection.

Waterfall Bookcase46

Say goodbye to boxy bookcases. This design is based on the classic Georgian style. Its graduated profile, inlay, and moldings make an eye-catching piece of furniture.
