This little tray serves up some interesting woodworking. The grid in the center is created with half laps. And for the optional stand, you can try your hand at making a dowel to allow the legs of the stand to pivot. All in all it's a project that's sure to come in handy.

Lantern-Base Lamp16

This lamp has an interesting design of half-lap grids on the sides. But the real surprise comes when you turn it on. A small bulb in the base of the lamp casts a lantern-like glow.
